Miss Envy makes history
What a greyhound.
WA superstar Miss Envy led throughout to win the Group 1 National Distance Championship (715m) in 41.57, becoming just the second greyhound in history to win both the National Sprint and National Distance Championships.
It was her fifth Group 1 victory, taking her career earnings beyond $1.2 million and further cementing her place among the greats.
Magpie Hector charged home for second, with Boom Bam Ranger third.
Wrongly Accused — from reserve to Group 1 winner
What a story this was.
Wrongly Accused wasn't even in the field until Friday, gaining a start following the scratching of Utter Madness.
Twenty-four hours later, he was a Group 1 National Sprint Champion.
The Victorian young gun weaved through traffic before exploding late to win the 515m feature in 29.54, delivering trainer Justin Nolan his first Group 1 and Victoria its first National Sprint title since Fernando Bale in 2015.
Winsome Jet finished second and Iconic Guess third.
