We go around the grounds each Wednesday, collating the latest form, tips and analysis from across Australia to find the strongest plays of the day. We've done the homework and narrowed it down to our Wednesday Set β the best bets to give you every chance of getting on the board.
Geelong Race 3 β Benchmark 70
1300m, 1:50pm
Remains unbeaten after three starts and returned with another impressive win at her first Australian appearance. She should strip fitter second-up and looked to have something left in reserve last time, suggesting there is still improvement to come.
BetBunkerStrathalbyn Race 1 β Maiden Plate
2050m, 2:05pm
Has finished in the placings at all four runs this preparation, including consecutive seconds, and continues to knock on the door. The rise beyond 2000m looks suitable given the way he has been finishing his races and he brings the most reliable recent form.
BetBunkerConsistent, fit and finally gets to a trip that looks capable of bringing out his best.
Warwick Farm Race 1 β Maiden Plate
1300m, 2:15pm
Showed genuine promise in both starts as a two-year-old and returns after two encouraging trials. He draws perfectly, gets James McDonald aboard and his previous form on rain-affected ground removes another query.
BetBunkerStrong juvenile form, an ideal draw and an excellent first-up setup make him the standout early play.
Eagle Farm Race 2 β Class 3 Handicap
1000m, 3:08pm
Drops considerably in class third-up and has already shown she handles rain-affected ground. She should be fitter again, likes to roll forward and gets weight relief through the claim.
BetBunkerThe combination of class relief, fitness and proven wet-track form is hard to ignore.
Eagle Farm Race 4 β Class 1 Plate
1000m, 4:18pm
Looked well above average when winning impressively on debut before being put away. He returns after winning both lead-up trials and already has a victory on soft ground, an important asset given the conditions.
BetBunkerWarwick Farm Race 6 β Benchmark 72
1600m, 5:10pm
Produced a strong effort first-up and now returns to a track and distance where she is unbeaten from two attempts. She should improve with the run under her belt and maps to put herself right on the speed from a favourable draw.
BetBunkerTwo starts over the Warwick Farm mile for two wins is a compelling profile second-up.
Belmont Race 6 β Class 1
1400m, 7:30pm
Showed considerable ability in her first preparation, winning impressively on debut before finishing behind a subsequent winner at start two. She has been freshened for the three-year-old features, gets William Pike and looks to have significantly more upside than her opposition.
BetBunkerShe looks destined for better races and should have too much firepower at Class 1 level.
Belmont Race 7 β Class 3
1600m, 8:05pm
Her latest Saturday-grade failure is best forgiven after she had little go right. She returns to Belmont where she is unbeaten from two starts, drops back in grade and gets useful weight relief from the claim.
BetBunkerBack to her favourite track and back in grade, she gets an ideal opportunity to bounce straight back.
