Spring has hit full tilt and the Saturday Set boys are back to attack a huge Saturday of racing at Randwick and Sandown, headlined by the Group 1 Moir Stakes.
Moir Stakes β speed vs class
The Moir shapes as a fascinating 1000m dash, with exciting three-year-old Natural Fling getting a huge weight advantage against the established sprinters.
King believes Natural Fling's speed, light weight and ability to race on pace make her the horse to beat, although Cavalry Girl also appeals at the double-figure quote.
Fizzer is leaning the other way, putting Cavalry Girl on top of Natural Fling and Giga Kick and believing the $10 on offer represents genuine value.
Furious Stakes β Pembrey to control it
King sees the Furious Stakes as a two-horse battle between Pembrey and Chilly Girl, but he's firmly with Pembrey.
Her three career victories have all come when allowed to roll forward, and King expects Tommy Berry to be positive from barrier seven. If Pembrey finds the front or controls the race from outside the leader, King doesn't believe Chilly Girl will run her down.
Pembrey is King's first official Saturday Set bet.
Concorde Stakes β King takes on Tempted
The boys disagree over short-priced favourite Tempted.
King believes she's the best horse in the race but is far too short around the $1.85 mark over 1000m first-up. He's looking towards Roselyn's Star, Headwall, Steady Ready and Marhoona as alternatives and is prepared to lay the favourite.
Fizzer still expects Tempted to win, although he agrees there isn't much value at the current price.
Chelmsford Stakes β King goes bang
King has found one of his strongest bets of the spring in Lindermann.
After a tough first-up assignment, Lindermann gets a completely different setup second-up. He should roll forward under Nash Rawiller in a race lacking pressure, and his record of four wins from nine second-up is a major factor.
King expects the current price to disappear and is having a serious bet.
