The boys are back for another Saturday Set, turning their attention to a huge Memsie Stakes Day at Caulfield as well as some quality racing at Rosehill and Eagle Farm.
After landing five from five last Saturday, King and Fizzer are looking to keep the momentum rolling as the spring begins to heat up.
Memsie Stakes — Cosmic Crusader ready to take the next step?
The Group 1 Memsie Stakes is the headline act at Caulfield and King is keen to side with a race-fit runner against several big names resuming.
His top selection is Cosmic Crusader, who arrives off an impressive PB Lawrence Stakes victory and has the fitness advantage over much of the field. King expects William Pike to be positive from the wide draw and believes the progressive WA galloper can continue his rise.
Jimmysstar is the other runner King wants on side. The seven-year-old has an excellent fresh record and resumes directly over 1400m, which King believes is a much better starting point than the shorter trips he has tackled first-up previously.
King's play is two units Cosmic Crusader and one unit Jimmysstar.
Fizzer was less convinced about those at the top of the market and suggested Birdman and Tom Kitten could provide some value in a wide-open edition of the Memsie.
The Heath — the boys clash
There was a major difference of opinion in The Heath.
King is prepared to take on short-priced favourite Oliveanotherday, believing the rise in grade and potential awkwardness from barrier one creates enough risk at the price.
Instead, he's backing War Machine, trusting the class of the proven Group performer at around the $6 mark.
Fizzer couldn't disagree more. He wasn't impressed by War Machine's trial and is firmly with Oliveanotherday, describing the progressive sprinter as a serious talent. Bridal Waltz is his saver.
San Domenico — take on Blue Door?
King believes Blue Door deserves favouritism after its strong return in the Rosebud, but thinks the market may be underestimating how much some of last season's leading two-year-olds can improve into their three-year-old campaigns.
With Guest House, Warwoven, Music Time, Revengeance and highly regarded debutant Wild Atlantic all bringing different form lines into the race, King thinks Blue Door is simply too short at around $2.25.
Fizzer also has Blue Door on top but agrees the price is skinny, with Wild Atlantic the runner he'd rather have something on at the odds.
