Winx welcomes Too Darn Hot filly
Champion mare Winx has welcomed her latest foal, giving birth to a filly by Too Darn Hot at Coolmore Stud in the Hunter Valley late on Tuesday night.
The filly arrived at around 10pm and, despite being a few weeks overdue, there were no complications with the foaling.
The daughter of the Darley stallion is Winx's third live foal. Too Darn Hot, a son of champion sire Dubawi, is standing this Australian breeding season for $275,000 including GST.
Stipulation puts Thousand Guineas on the radar
Frankel filly Stipulation could be headed towards the Group 1 Thousand Guineas after an impressive maiden victory over 1425m at Geelong on Wednesday.
The Ciaron Maher-trained filly was heavily backed into $1.60 and, after taking some time to wind up under John Allen, powered through the line strongly.
The Thousand Guineas or Edward Manifold Stakes are now potential targets, with Stipulation moving into $26 for the Thousand Guineas following the win.
Flemington juveniles ready to step out
Some of Victoria's most exciting early-season two-year-olds will step out in a series of Flemington jumpouts on Thursday.
With the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes approaching, the jumpouts should provide an important early guide to some of the juveniles likely to feature through the spring.

Pericles tackles 1200m for the first time
Pericles will break new ground when Bjorn Baker sends the Group 1 winner to Sunday's $2 million Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield.
Remarkably, the seven-year-old has never raced over 1200m in his 35-start career, with 1300m the shortest distance he has previously tackled.
Baker is confident the veteran has the speed to handle the sharp drop in trip.
He's definitely got the speed to win over shorter trips, there's no doubt about it.
J-Mac heads south for four Caulfield rides
James McDonald will head to Caulfield following Golden Rose Day in Sydney for four rides at Sunday's Group 1 meeting.
McDonald will partner Chayan, Diameter and Platinum Pearl, along with Extragalactic in the Manikato Stakes.
There were concerns earlier in the week that Extragalactic might miss the capacity field, but she has secured her place in the $2 million sprint.
Headwall locked in for The Everest
Headwall has officially secured his place in The Everest, with the Max Whitby and Neil Werrett slot confirming the talented sprinter for the $20 million Randwick feature.
Birdman produces huge Underwood rating
Birdman produced one of the strongest Underwood Stakes performances of the past decade when winning Saturday's Group 1 over 1800m at Caulfield.
Daniel O'Sullivan's The Rating Bureau awarded Birdman a 105 WFA Performance Rating, improving on the 103 he recorded winning the Doomben Cup last preparation.

Paradoxium on Coolmore path
Exciting colt Paradoxium will head to the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on October 10 before returning to Melbourne for the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on October 31.
Trainer Bjorn Baker couldn't be happier with the colt heading deeper into the spring.
He's fantastic, he couldn't look any better.
Yellow Jersey's spring campaign over
Yellow Jersey has been sent to the paddock and will not race again this spring after pulling up sore following Saturday's Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.
The imported gelding finished last in the Caulfield feature, with co-trainer Calvin McEvoy confirming on Wednesday that foot soreness had been identified.
He is going to the paddock and just going to be completely reset and start again in the autumn.
The stable will now give Yellow Jersey the time he needs before targeting an autumn return.
