It's another huge spring Saturday, with the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington and Epsom Handicap Day at Randwick headlining the action.
Turnbull Stakes β Sir Delius gets his chance
Both King and Fizzer are sticking with Sir Delius.
His first-up run over 1600m was slightly disappointing, but the step to 2000m, stronger tempo and second-up fitness are all major positives. He won this race emphatically last year and both boys believe Saturday gives him the chance to show he remains one of the country's premier middle-distance horses.
Sir Delius is an official Saturday Set tip for both King and Fizzer.
Gilgai Stakes β a straight-six lottery
Neither King nor Fizzer is particularly keen to bet into the Gilgai.
King landed on Skybird as his top selection, while Fizzer leans towards Hedged, but both are happy to largely stay out of a difficult Flemington straight race.
Flight Stakes β three main hopes
The Flight Stakes looks to revolve around Bangkok Hottie, Striking Alibi and Global Goal.
King believes Striking Alibi can turn the tables if James McDonald gets her to settle and puts her into the race, while Fizzer has Bangkok Hottie narrowly on top on ratings.
Neither is keen enough at the current prices to bet.
Epsom Handicap β Attica the value
King and Fizzer have landed on the same horse in a wide-open Epsom β Attica.
King believes the lightly raced runner is ready to peak with just 51.5kg and likes the $7 available. Fizzer also has Attica as his top selection and was encouraged by Joe Pride's confidence following his latest trial.
Idle Flyer, Perfumist and Mr Miller were other value chances identified by King.
Premiere Stakes β Tempted divides the boys
This is where things get interesting.
Fizzer is all-in on Tempted, making the star sprinter an official Saturday Set selection despite the short price.
King wants to take her on at the odds. He believes Headwall at $10 and Ninja at $14 represent much better value, with Plaintiff another rough chance around $21.
King's Saturday Set
King admits it was a difficult week to find bets, but Sir Delius gets his chance at his preferred 2000m, Ten Deep returns off two good trials and Ramasis gets another chance after being caught wide last start.
Fizzer's Saturday Set
The boys unite on Sir Delius and Ramasis, clash spectacularly over Tempted and Fizzer heads west for his best bet of the weekend.
Fizzer's strongest play comes at Kalgoorlie with Immortal Bliss, whose trial he described as outstanding.
