As spring draws closer, more of the better-performed horses are returning, with some quality racing at Caulfield and Rosehill this Saturday. Caulfield hosts four Stakes races, while Sydney's feature is the Listed Rosebud at Rosehill. Here are the key runners and market movers.

Caulfield R5 — Vain Stakes (G3) · 1100m · 2:45pm

Closer To Free returns after an impressive first campaign, which included a Blue Diamond Prelude win over subsequent Golden Slipper winner Guest House. Big Wigs finished last preparation with a strong Showdown victory, while Hard Kick, Confederation and Myhro's Ruler add plenty of depth to a strong group of returning three-year-olds.

Market: very stable since opening, with no significant firmers.

Caulfield R6 — Quezette Stakes (G3) · 1100m · 3:25pm

Unbeaten Kiwi filly Lara Antipova brings serious credentials across the Tasman after winning the Group 1 Sistema Stakes, while Natural Fling resumes after an impressive first campaign and has jumped out strongly. Riverina Lulu was excellent on debut and Scintillation arrives off a first-up Randwick victory.

Market mover: Ghana's Akan has been heavily backed from $23 into $12.

Caulfield R7 — P.B. Lawrence Stakes (G2) · 1400m · 4:00pm

Cosmic Crusader announced himself in Melbourne with a dominant first-up Bletchingly Stakes victory and should only improve second-up. Private Eye is the proven warrior of the field, while Evaporate, Feroce and Desert Lightning all have strong claims in the feature.

Market mover: Private Eye has firmed from $5.00 into $4.50.

Caulfield R8 — Regal Roller Stakes (Listed) · 1200m · 4:35pm

Arkansaw Kid should improve second-up at his preferred track and distance, while Ndola can be dangerous charging home from the back. Recommendation drops in weight after placing behind Cosmic Crusader in the Bletchingly, while lightly raced pair McGaw and Asakura resume with strong form around them.

Market mover: Recommendation has been the big firmer, backed from $8.00 into $5.50.

Rosehill R8 — The Rosebud (Listed) · 1100m · 3:45pm

A cracking edition of The Rosebud featuring several exciting three-year-olds. Chilly Girl resumes after winning the Group 3 Widden Stakes on debut, while Blue Door is also unbeaten after taking out the Kindergarten Stakes. Central Europe brings strong two-year-old form and has trialled well, while impressive debut winner Castillo King is another with plenty of upside.

Market mover: Blue Door has firmed from $3.90 into $3.60.
