It's a slightly different Wednesday Set this week. With Melbourne Cup week in full swing and no metropolitan racing on Wednesday, we're concentrating solely on the Kyneton meeting. We've worked through the nine-race card and narrowed it down to the strongest plays of the day.
Kyneton Race 1 β Maiden Plate
1103m, 12:55pm
Returns after three consecutive seconds in his first campaign and brings the strongest exposed form into the race. He maps well from barrier five and looks to have found the right assignment to finally break through.
BetBunkerThree straight seconds and clearly one of the strongest profiles in the opener.
Kyneton Race 2 β 3YO Maiden Plate
1203m, 1:25pm
Showed good ability in his first preparation and returns after two encouraging trials. Damien Lane takes the ride and he should get every opportunity to produce his turn of foot fresh.
BetBunkerStrong exposed form, good trials and plenty of upside make him one of the best plays on the card.
Kyneton Race 4 β Benchmark 74
1203m, 2:35pm
Was narrowly beaten in stronger company last start and now drops back to non-metro grade third-up. Barrier three gives him a favourable map and the wet conditions should hold no fears.
BetBunkerKyneton Race 6 β Benchmark 66
1856m, 3:45pm
Was narrowly beaten over this track last start and again draws perfectly in barrier one. His better soft-ground performances rate strongly for this level and he should enjoy another economical run.
BetBunkerStrong recent form, barrier one and proven ability with give in the ground.
Kyneton Race 7 β Benchmark 70
1454m, 4:20pm
Returns to a track she handles well and her recent jumpout in strong company was excellent. She has the tactical speed to take up a prominent position and Jamie Mott knows her well.
BetBunkerStrong track profile, excellent recent work and the right racing pattern for Kyneton.
Kyneton Race 9 β Benchmark 62
1203m, 5:30pm
Has won one of her two starts and her only defeat came behind a mare that subsequently performed at Group 1 level. She is unbeaten at Kyneton, has prepared well for her return and looks very well placed in Benchmark 62 company.
BetBunkerThe strongest overall profile on the card and she looks capable of progressing beyond this grade.
